Community of Hope is a church of real people learning what it means to follow Jesus together. We believe following Jesus changes us—and sends us into the world to love people with the same grace, truth, and hope we have received.

This is the simple heartbeat behind what we do. We want to be authentic people who are continually learning to follow Jesus and who make His love visible in the everyday lives of the people around us.

Our Vision

We want Scripture to form the foundation of who we are and how we live. As we follow Jesus, we believe He continually transforms our hearts, our relationships, and the way we see the world. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are sent beyond ourselves to love our neighbors, serve our community, and make disciples in every generation.

Our Beliefs

What We Believe

Our beliefs are rooted in Scripture, centered on Jesus Christ, and shaped by the historic Christian faith and our Methodist tradition. Here are some of the core beliefs that guide who we are and how we live.

  • The Trinity

    We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three persons, one God. God is Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer, eternally perfect in holiness, love, and truth.

  • The Bible

    We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our primary authority for faith and life. Through Scripture, God reveals His character, His saving work, and His call for us to live as faithful followers of Jesus.

  • Jesus Christ

    We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus defeated sin and death and made reconciliation with God possible. He is Lord, Savior, and the One we seek to follow in every part of life.

  • Salvation

    We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. God’s grace meets us before we seek Him, forgives and restores us when we turn to Him, and continues transforming us into the people He created us to be.

  • The Sacraments

    We celebrate Baptism and Holy Communion as sacraments given to the Church by Jesus Christ. In Baptism, we receive a sign of God’s grace and are welcomed into the covenant community of faith. At the Lord’s Table, we remember Christ’s saving work and encounter His grace as we share the bread and cup together.

  • Holy Spirit

    We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and is present and active in the lives of believers and the Church. The Spirit draws us to Christ, helps us understand God’s Word, transforms us toward holiness, equips us with spiritual gifts, and empowers us to live and serve as faithful witnesses of Jesus.

  • The Church

    We believe the Church is the body of Christ—a community of people called together by God to worship, grow as disciples, care for one another, and participate in God’s mission in the world. We are sent to make disciples and make the love of Jesus visible wherever God has placed us.

  • Prayer

    We believe prayer is an essential part of life with God. Through prayer we worship, listen, confess, give thanks, bring our needs before God, and pray for others. Prayer deepens our relationship with God and helps us become attentive to His presence and His will.
