You're encouraged to be a part of Community of Hope's church conference, Sunday, October 12, immediately following the 11:00 AM celebration gathering. This yearly time allows us an opportunity to celebrate some highlights of the year and peek through the lens of the future. We'll also have the joy of welcoming Don Scott, our new District Superintendent. Child care will be available.

This Saturday

Moms of Hope present a beginner lesson in yoga relaxation. Join us in the Worship Center this Saturday morning October 11th. Socializing will begin at 10:30 with our yoga session starting at 11:00. Our instructor, Lisa Rose-Michalski, will begin by leading us through some breathing exercises to help us focus. Child care is available but you must RSVP.

In recognition of October's Breast Cancer Awareness, COH is going pink on Sunday, October 26. On that Sunday, wear pink and join in the PINK OUT. On October 19, we'll be honoring all COHers who have battled or are currently battling any form of cancer. If you are a cancer survior or currently in treatment, please email Denise Okerlund, with the following info:

This Sunday - The Pothole of Choices

To date, 36 folks have taken the Biggest Loser challenge, totaling a combined weight of over 3 tons. In case you haven't heard, Community of Hope has started a "biggest loser" COH style. We began last Saturday, October 4. It's not too late to join in, but you'll need to act TODAY. Here's the scoop:

Women AND men are welcome
The competition will run for 7 weeks - beginning Saturday, October 4 and ending Saturday November 22 - just in time for Thanksgiving
The winner will be determined by the percentage of weight lost (not percentage of body fat)
Weigh-ins will be done on the honor system with your submission of a weekly weigh-in on Saturday of each week
An entry fee of $10.00 to enter
The winner will have the pot donated in their name to Wesley Mission Center to use in their food pantry, plus be presented a gift certificate to Massage Envy during our November 23 Celebration Gathering
At the end of the competition we'll also announce the total group weight loss on Sunday, November 23

If you'd like to join in on the fun - do it TODAY by emailingl Heather Marchlinski and she'll get you on board. I'm becoming a loser and it's working! You can become a loser too. Hopefully we'll all be seeing "less" of each other.

Calling All Third Graders

On Sunday, October 19th, we will be presenting the 3rd Graders of Community of Hope with their very own Bible. Please join us during the 9:30 Celebration Gathering as we invite some of COH's youngest to "Dig Into the Bible" and learn God's Word. If you have a current 3rd grader living in your household, please contact Betsy Spencer to let her know.

Heather Arnold (foreground in green) is going to Cambodia as part of Youth With a Mission,

specializing in dance. To help raise money for her relocation, Heather will be having a HUGE garage sale on the campus parking lot, Saturday, October 18. She could use your help to make it HUGE! Clean your closets, garage, attic, storage shed ... whatever. Everything will help. You can email Heather and she will come by your house to pick it up, or you can drop it by the campus on the morning of the sale.
